Hey the 5 or 6 people who take the time to read my gibberish. Sorry it’s been a while. It’s been a busy last few weeks. I know I promised The Dark Knight Returns casting but I’m drawing blank. Anyway…
Went and seen Johnny Mayer on July 17 and got my face rocked off! Thanks John if you’re out there Google-ing yourself. Here’s the setlist…
- Good Love is On the Way
- Bigger Than My Body
- I Don’t Trust Myself (With Loving You)
- Belief
- Stop This Train
- Slow Dancing in a Burning Room
- Free Falling
- Waiting on the World to Change
- Ain’t Nobody’s Bizness If I Do
- Why Georgia
- Vultures/Makes Me Want To Holler
- Gravity
- Encore
- Something Missing/Every Time You Go Away
- Get Out My/Sledgehammer
- Say
The new intro for I Don’t Trust Myself is sick. Ain’t Nobody’s Bizness, which I think is an old B.B. King song, was out of this world! So was Gravity. He went off on those two songs. Get Out My/Sledgehammer was a great old soul song that I have no idea who sings. Vultures was crazy good and so was Free Falling. Brett Dennen and Colbie Caillat really put on a good show too. It was a great night at a beautiful venue at Blossom. It was a little hot and a guy fell over drunk and got escorted out but other than that it was awesome. (Plus we were 11 rows back so that rocked.)
The day after that The Dark Knight was released so we had to go see it. It is the best super hero movie I have seen to date. Heath Ledger played out of his mind. Christian Bale was great. So was Gary Oldman and Michael Caine. And any movie gains instant credibility with me if Morgan Freeman is in it. It was so good I seen it again the week later. I can’t wait to buy it on Blu-Ray. Gonna be killer! Don’t take the kiddies to this one though! It was a really dark movie. I seen 8 year old kids in the theatre. If I had seen that at 8 I wouldn’t sleep for a week! Congrats Heath on one of your last, and I think, finest performances.
So that’s my life in a nutshell as of late. Sorry it’s been so long. I missed you too…
